this site looks best when dressed in verdana a free font available from (shudder) microsoft for windows or mac. (sorry, unix geeks-- guess there are certain sacrifices that you have to make for power and prestige ;). the site works well in almost any browser (even lynx!), but if you find a browser specific issuse don't hesitate to tell us.

these pages are served by the Apache server running under Linux (RedHat 7.0), on a system from VA Research. (they used to sell computers!) random web geekery is done in Perl, PHP, CSS and vim by jason (and others), our resident Linux geek.

the web cam is a generic ccd composite video camera, going to a bt878-based video capture card on the linux box. while the setup was non-trivial, the camera is quite reliable and with enough cord can be placed anywhere (unlike USB, which has cord limits).
