iTunes
(128kbps mp3)

it's apparently all about iTunes these days, so those folks should click here. many other folks will be more than adequately served by this one. works right out of the box on most all computers, no fiddling required.

Ogg/Vorbis (128kbps)

with just a little work, you can have something better than plain mp3, without that "I've sold my soul to a German multinational that mercilessly and illegally crushes innovation with corporate lawyering" feeling. 100% made in the U.S.A. free software Ogg/Vorbis encoded music. also available in a light version (64kbps).

windows: will work on recent (post version 5) versions of winamp. will work on Windows Media Player (but you may have to download this package).

os/x: you can download this package and use the Quicktime player. iTunes does not work, and this is why.

linux/unix: works with recent versions of Xmms, among others, probably without any tweaking.

we do most of our streaming using the free (as in speech and beer) ogg vorbis codec, our stream server is icecast. many other software solutions (other than the ones mentioned above) can be found here, including the spiffy VLC, or you can try the WXDU-only java player, both of which work on most platforms out there.
